Young Women's Leadership Program (YWLP) in Yemen
The YWLP Yemen Small Grants Program
Project Summaries
Following their trainings, YWLP participants are eligible to apply for small grants to help them implement innovative civil society or media projects. The grants allow participants to use recently gained skills and networks while working on these ventures. This is a competitive component of the program and winning projects are selected by an independent selection committee composed of NGO and media representatives, academics, and local community leaders.
Six grants totaling £5,022.21 ($10,000 USD) were awarded in the spring of 2008. With these funds, young women are conducting projects as diverse as women’s income generation, NGO strengthening and drug prevention. Read about these winning small grant projects.
In the fall of 2008, YWLP will award the final round of small grants to the second cohort of trainees.
