As the Humanitarian Aid Professional of The Federation of the Women Associations in Turkey, Türkiye Kadın dernekleri Federasyonu (TKDF), Elçin Cavlan is a feminist activist and humanitarian aid professional with extensive emergency response experience with a high commitment to gender, human rights, and protection. While in the U.S., Cavlan worked with The New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault in New York City, where she worked on prevention and community mobilization programs to prevent and respond to sexual violence and developed a research program on how to best coordinate the  community response. Since her return to Turkey, Cavlan has mobilized funds to open a safe-space dedicated to the prevention of and the response to sexual violence, coordinated  the Community Response Team (CCRT) in Turkey, and created the Domestic Abuse Intervention Program.
