As the founding executive director of Himalayan Education and Development (Head Nepal), Chhitup Dorji Lama has been working for the social, economic, and educational empowerment and inclusion of children, youth, and adults with disabilities through educational, vocational, and skill building trainings since April 2011. During his fellowship in the U.S., Lama hopes to learn about inclusive and integrated interventions, specifically among children and youth with disabilities in school and colleges, while also developing his skills in fundraising and project monitoring and evaluation.

Upon returning from the Community Solutions Program, Lama plans to work with local community members, especially people with disabilities, to diminish discrimination against minority populations and persons with disabilities.
