Irwin Iradukunda
Irwin Iradukunda is a human rights defender with over five years' experience in community work and advocacy, with a focus on sexual and gender minorities in Burundi. Currently, Irwin is a director of programs for Mouvement pour les Libertés Individuelles (MOLI). In his capacity, he trains emerging activists and oversees programs advancing the sexual and health rights of persons whose rights have been violated on grounds of sexual orientation or gender identity and expression. He also serves as a volunteer for the Center for Citizens’ Participation on the African Union as the campaigns associate. He holds a degree in Management and Business Administration and certificates in Gender-sensitive Governance, Security and Protection for Human Rights Defenders and Social Organizations, and Global Health Monitoring and Evaluation Fundamentals. Upon completion of the Fellowship, Irwin intends to continue his advocacy work through mentoring grassroots youth and queer groups and forming partnerships with other groups.
