Shalate Teffo is an advertising management graduate with seven years' experience in marketing and advertising, mainly on national government campaigns. She currently runs a nonprofit organisation offering services in the form of a child and youth care home, early childhood and skills development programs, and spiritual and psychological support. It has been running for 15 years. She is also the director of Ntshuxeko Foundation which adopts underperforming schools around South Africa and supplies them with educational support material, winter school programs, and skills training workshops. She was selected as a brand ambassador for Brand South Africa 'play your part' initiative where she runs sanitary pad drives and conducts interpersonal development workshops. Upon completion of the Fellowship, she plans to build more centers in the disadvantaged communities she works with as there is a desperate need for such support programs to improve the lives of young South Africans.
