As the Program Coordinator of Angaza Vijiji, Evarastus Obura coordinates resource mobilization functions and coordinates visioning and staff recruitment processes for the organization. While in the U.S., Obura worked with The Earth Stewards in Charleston, WV, where he engaged in network-building, identifying potential partners, and fundraising through proposal writing. Since his return to Kenya, Obura has focused his efforts in school’s involvement in the conservation of straw-colored fruit bats through school-based monitoring of roost sites and building capacity of rural schools to promote participation of remote rural schools in sustainable development activities.
