As a program manager for Secure Liberia’s Community Empowerment Program, Charles Brewer has worked with marginalized and underprivileged communities to address inequalities and other forms of social injustices by creating a community driven platform for shared-learning and leadership and advocacy. During his fellowship in the United States, Brewer intends to learn skills in the areas of data collection and analysis, policy advocacy, fundraising and proposal writing. Upon returning from the Community Solution Program, Brewer plans to strengthen communities’ access to legal information through the training of community paralegals and establishing community legal information centers that will contain legal information in sample language.
