Pamela Mitunda
As an accommodation manager for Beit Cure International Hospital, Pamela Mitunda ensures that the organisation’s standards for guest services, décor, and housekeeping services are met or exceeded. The money raised through these services contributes to free orthopaedic surgeries offered to children of Malawi. Apart from managing accommodations, Mitunda also produces and presents a radio program that raises awareness about Beit Cure’s mission, vision and how children can benefit from its services. During her fellowship in the United States, Pamela hopes to learn about women’s empowerment with a special focus on keeping young women in school and delay marriage. Upon returning from the Community Solution Program, Mitunda plans on starting an organization that will be providing civic education to young girls at risk of dropping out and getting married before completing secondary school.
