As the program director for the Movement for Rural Development in Sierra Leone, John Swaray has experience working on governance and accountability projects, specifically focused on analyzing and improving revenue collection of rural chiefdoms. Swaray is skilled in community mobilization, human rights and good governance, facilitating linkages between government, district, chiefdom and community stakeholders. During his fellowship in the United States, Swaray hopes to learn about the various skills and techniques in mainstreaming accountability and good governance as well as increasing his skills in program management, monitoring and evaluation, and fundraising. Upon returning from the Community Solution Program, Swaray plans to promote the culture of good governance and accountability through dialogue and consultative forums between national, district, chiefdom and community stakeholders.
