Rodrigo Ponce
Rodrigo Ponce is the founder of Eco Aldeas Peru, a community-based ecotourism and agro-tourism value chain development in the Peruvian Upper Amazon. As a social entrepreneur, he implements educational travel projects connected to permaculture, traditional agriculture, community development, environmental protection and rural education. While in the U.S., Ponce worked with Wholly H2O in Oakland, California, learning about the critical situation of water sources in the southwestern United States and the solutions promoted by different organizations on a participatory basis. Following the Community Solutions Program, he worked to build a demonstrative sustainable water management permaculture system with the participation of local grassroots organizations involved in this community-based tourism project.
