Yanilis Romero
As an English Teacher and English Department Coordinator at Antonia Santos High School and Universidad de Cordoba, Yanilis Romero leads English classes where students learn and exchange ideas, promotes intercultural exchanges to the United States, and designs lessons with a project-based methodology to equip learners with 21st century skills. While in the U.S., Romero worked with Oliver Wendel Holmes School in Boston, where she helped improve school climate, assisted with the after school program, and led sessions about Colombian culture. Since her return to Colombia, Romero has led cultural exchange virtual programs with students from Japan, Israel, USA, and Brazil; coordinated workshops with the local community and university students on personal wellness and cultural views; and conducted research about strategies to promote English language teaching to students with dyslexia.
