As the National Coordinator for the Malawi U.S. Exchange Alumni Association, Peter Mazingaliwa focuses on raising awareness within communities about the threats of climate change and adaptation techniques available to meet those challenges. Mazingaliwa provides leadership and managerial support to all four chapters of the association and draws up national action plans for climate change activities. During his CSP fellowship, Mazingaliwa worked with iMatter Movement in Ventura, CA, establishing the iMatter Intercontinental Youth Exchange Links, which provides an opportunity for youth to connect with likeminded students from across the world who are confronting different aspects of the climate crisis. Following the Community Solutions Program fellowship, Mazingaliwa helped youth to adapt to their changing climate change by teaching them sustainable agriculture techniques using demonstration plots in rural communities.
