As Democracy and Civic Education Officer for the Youth Development Organization, Armytage Mumbwali mobilizes communities and educates them on civic issues such as good governance and human rights-based development. He is creating and mainstreaming initiatives that encourage collaboration among civic leaders, social service providers, and community members. While in the U.S., Armytage worked with the Alaska Center for Public Policy in Anchorage, where he participated in various local assembly meetings, community forums and trainings, all of which were centered on engaging citizens in public policy development. Following the Community Solutions Program, he used his research skills to identify and analyze factors that prevent effective community participation in governance.
