Pajtim Saiti is the Executive Director at the Permaculture and Peacebuilding Center in Macedonia, focusing on democratization and decentralization. Saiti works on increasing citizen participation by working with a wide variety of actors such as international, national, and bilateral organizations. As a Community Solutions Fellow, Saiti worked with AmericaSpeaks in Washington, D.C., to better understand approaches to citizen participation initiatives in the U.S. He also conducted research, produced a white paper on participatory budgeting practices, and helped facilitate a training on participatory decision-making at the World Bank. After the Community Solutions Program, Saiti worked to design and implement a project initiative for the physical establishment of pilot municipal centers for strengthening the role of Neighborhood Self-Government units.
