Ricky Richard Anywar is the Founder and Executive Director of Friends of Orphans (FRO) in Uganda, an organization that works to rehabilitate reintegrate and empower vulnerable populations back into their communities. At FRO, Anywar’s programs target former child soldiers, abductees, child mothers, orphans, and war and HIV/AIDS affected communities. During his CSP fellowship, Anywar worked with the Fellowship of Reconciliation in Nyack, New York, on conflict mapping in Chicago, as well as on organizing the annual day of action and healing for women and children who are victims of violence. Upon his return to Uganda, he worked to bring conflict resolution skills as well as agricultural production training to former child soldiers, increasing their resilience to food insecurity. He also worked to Increase economic opportunities and positive social engagement of youth in Northern Uganda.
