Anja Kovacs, India, works on Internet freedom issues as a Fellow at the Centre for Internet and Society in Bangalore. She dates her interest to 2007, when she began to consider the consequences of the reluctance of many people's movements in India to engage with new technologies. She is now conducting research on the actors, audiences, messages and methods for online activism in India, as well as developing the Maps for Making Change project that explores the potential of geographical mapping techniques as a tool to support activism.
