Mladen Velojic
Mladen is the deputy chief of party for the Strengthening Media Systems (SMS) program in Serbia.
Prior to joining IREX, Mladen served as a director of the Media & Reform Centre Nis (MRCN), a nonpartisan group supporting the work and visibility of civil society organizations as well as the professionalism of media in Serbia. At MRCN, Mladen coordinated and conducted training and capacity building for journalists and CSO activists, sustainable development of media and civil society, public advocacy, and TV production programs. Under the Partnership for Sustainable Development project, he initiated the process of establishing the Endowment for Democracy in South Serbia, aiming to strengthen citizens' activism and participation in building democracy and open society.
He is a dedicated advocate for strengthened cooperation between media actors and CSOs through innovative communication platforms. He has worked for over a decade to increase the role and impact of civil society in the public policy decision-making processes, developing and implementing strategies for sustainable media development, advanced and creative communications, and security.
Mladen holds a BA in law from Faculty of Law for Economy and Justice, University Business Academy Novi Sad. He completed his MA in communications at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Nis.
