Egidio Vaz Rasposo, Mozambique, joined IREX in August 2012 as Media Specialist for Advocacy and Alliances on the Media Strengthening Program for Mozambique (MSP), which aims is to improve the sustainability and effectiveness of the Mozambican media through professional capacity building, business development, journalism education, community radio, and advocacy. Prior to joining IREX, Egidio worked for the Wage Indicator Foundation, a Dutch workplace justice project, and a communications consultant and stakeholder liaison for the WashCost Project. Egidio has ten 10 years of experience in managing communications programs and marketing with a focus on awareness raising and advocacy, including creative use of IT in messaging, and has worked with many Mozambican journalists and media organizations. His publications include MISA’s 2011 report on press freedom in Mozambique and Covering Mozambican Democracy: A Handbook for Journalists.
