Adriana Sofia Mena Obregon
As the Specialized Professional of Unit for the Attention and Reparation for Victims (UARIV) Government Organization of Colombia, Adriana Sofia Mena Obregon provides technical inputs to the Ethnic Affairs Directorate for the construction of the methodology for the implementation of the Victims Law for the differential approaches of children and youth, carries out trainings for government entities and ethnic communities to strengthen capacities that allow the implementation of Victims Law, and monitors the progress of indicators to report on the government's progress in compliance with the Peace Agreement. While in the U.S., Mena Obregon worked with Latin American Youth Center in Washington D.C., where she supported various programs that strengthen the identity and culture of young migrants, maintained the structure of the mentoring program, and facilitated the recruitment and registration of youth in programs offered by LAYC. Since her return to Colombia, Mena Obregon has focused her efforts on a project that addresses three problems with youth: discrimination, lack of opportunities, and violence.
