As a Gender and Development Cultural Consultant and Translator for Peace Corps Morocco, El Hassania Larichi has experience in youth and community development and gender empowerment. Upon returning to Morocco, El Hassania plans to work toward gender equality, women’s rights, and girl’s education in her community through increased trainings, opportunities, and exchanges. El Hassania will be placed in Center for Women’s Leadership in Portland, Oregon working to launch a pilot project to outreach to four local schools about the Teen Summit, recruit interested teen girls to be leaders and organizers of the summit, and facilitate programming at those schools and help set up remote access so that girls who have transportation barriers in the past, can now participate in the program.
