Hanin Omran
As a Livelihood Coordinator of ADRA and the Chair of the Board of Directors with Syrian Youth Assembly, Hanin Omran builds the skills of vulnerable communities in rural Homs and rural Damascus, develops new projects for the organization to support vulnerable communities in Syria, and builds strategies to build peace among Syrian youth across the world through empowerment and education.. While in the U.S., Omran worked with Women's Initiative For Self-Empowerment (WISE) in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she developed a healthy relationship curriculum for young immigrants and refugees, supported the organization in their financial strategic plans, planned for conferences, and introduced the community to the trauma impact on immigrants and refugees. Since her return to Syria, Omran has trained over 250 volunteers with local and international organizations and conducted hate speech, peacebuilding, social inclusion, and nonviolence webinars. In addition, she currently working on developing a peacebuilding online manual for the Syrian Youth Assembly to support Syrian youth in participating in the peacebuilding process.
