As a Biologist for the Regional Directorate of Health Amazonas, Melva Rosa Gil Vera has experience monitoring water quality for risks to public health and educating the community and key stakeholders on water disinfection methods. Upon returning to Peru, Melva Rosa plans to provide environmental education to vulnerable communities. Melva will be placed in Miami Waterkeeper in Miami, Florida working on research and outreach to support the organization in providing clean water, ecosystem protection, and resiliency.
