Rugile Butkeviciute
As the Program Manager and Lecturer of Women's Issues Information Center, Rugile Butkeviciute supports victims of gender-based violence and serves as the stakeholder relations spokesperson. While in the U.S., Butkeviciute worked with George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia where she worked on event planning within the Women and Gender Studies Center and Student Support and Advocacy Center on gender equality and gender-based violence, put together conferences and social campaigns on prevention of gender-based violence, and helped create content for their social media accounts. Since her return to Lithuania, Butkeviciute has focused her efforts on Children First, a project to tackle gender-based violence in teen relationships by combating stereotypes and norms fueling dating violence and the Decoding UN Resolution 1325: From Safety At Home To Leadership Roles project.
