As a Project Coordinator for Sustainable Coastlines Papua New Guinea, Samantha Kuman has experience in waste management advocacy. Upon returning to Papua New Guinea, Samantha plans to empower rural communities with effective waste management strategies by implementing rural plastic pollution awareness and waste management workshops to increase knowledge on waste management and plastic pollution. Samantha will be placed in Mobile Bay National Estuary Program in Mobile, Alabama working on the implementation of trash abatement in the Three Mile Creek Watershed program and conduct community engagement in an underserved area to raise awareness and participation in watershed protection efforts.
