Samuel Ndorah Agongo
As a Manager and Trainer for Agofarms and Innovation Centre, Samuel Agongo has experience working to enhance soil health and fertility using compost produced from raw materials. Upon returning to Ghana, Samuel plans to improve the productivity of marginalized farm lands by advocating and providing the means to add organic manure; to set up value chains for co-operatives working on woodlots, process cassava, rear poultry and pigs, and provide capacity building trainings on topics ranging from soil health to nutrition. Samuel will be placed at Plant it Forward in Houston, Texas working on farmland to improve soil fertility using organic methods, creating and implementing a composting system compatible with the farmers’ operations, integrating soil quality and composting initiatives within food safety regulations as well as being involved in non-profit organizational strategic planning.
