Rusudan Tskhomelidze
Rusudan Tskhomelidze is media technical assistance manager for the Media for Transparent and Accountable Governance (M-TAG) program, in Tbilisi, Georgia. She provides high-level leadership in implementation of activities aimed at building the capacity of Georgian regional media.
As a media technical assistance manager, she supervises the performance of M-TAG media partners, provides professional expertise in multimedia production and editorial management, conducts on-site training courses, and contributes to the overall implementation of the M-TAG program.
Rusudan Tskhomelidze, who joined IREX in 2017, is an experienced journalist and media manager. She has more than 22 years of experience working for local and international media organizations, including Worldwide TV news and Internews. Since 2003, her daily responsibilities in the role of senior producer or editor-in-chief were to produce daily news or weekly analytical programs, talk shows, or midday programs. When working at NDI’s Parliamentary Communication Centre in Tbilisi, she cooperated with regional media extensively, gaining a good understanding of the environment in which regional media operates.
Her professional background also includes the positions of freelance producer for Fox News (U.S.), Arte (France), SVT (Sweden), Toronto Star (Canada), DW (Germany), Al Jazeera (Qatar). She taught journalism at Ilya State University and University of Georgia and for several years cooperated with NDI as a media trainer. At NDI’s request, she conducted training in Kyrgyzstan.
Rusudan Tskhomelidze is fluent in English and Russian. She graduated from Tbilisi State University with an MA in journalism.
