Nermin Al Sharif
As a Local Community Special Trainer at the Jordan River Foundation, Nermin Al Sharif focuses on protecting children and women from abuse and developing physical education and fitness programs to promote children‘s physical, social, and emotional development and social skills. She has also led leadership trainings that empower youth to make positive changes and choices. While in the U.S., Al Sharif worked at Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS) in New Haven, Connecticut, assisting the case management team by working with new arrivals and introducing them to IRIS. She also worked with refugees, especially Arabic speakers, and set up evaluation sessions with clients so IRIS could receive program feedback. Upon returning to Jordan, Al Sharif created a community campaign and organized educational programs to raise awareness of child abuse and empower youth to become more civically engaged.
