Mohammed Alhammami
Mohammed Alhammami is a program officer for the Preservice Teacher Education in Jordan (PRESTIJ) program, where he provides backstopping support.
Prior to joining IREX, Mohammed worked in Gaza, Palestine, as the project manager of We Are Not Numbers, a project that provides a platform for Palestinian youth to tell their own stories of life under Israeli military occupation. Mohammed coordinated workshops, led communications and outreach efforts, and supported fundraising campaigns.
Mohammed also worked as an English-language trainer at AMIDEAST in the U.S. Department of State sponsored program English Access Microscholarship Program. He taught high achieving yet economically disadvantaged students in the Gaza Strip, developing their reading, writing, and oral skills through enhancement activities, such as advocacy, personal development, public speaking, and community service.
Mohammed holds an MA in Arab studies from Georgetown University and a BA in government and public policy from Franklin and Marshall College. He speaks Arabic and English.
