Amie Williams is the co-founder and Executive Director of GlobalGirl Media, a non-profit organization that trains teenage girls in digital media journalism and leadership with projects in South Africa, Morocco and Chicago and Los Angeles in the United States. She is a freelance journalist and filmmaker who has produced feature documentary films, corporate videos and political ads. Her work focuses on giving voice to marginalized communities, and building social movement building including organized labor and the women's movement. Her latest film, We Are Wisconsin, about the occupation of the Wisconsin State Capitol and the first "occupy" action in the United States, was nominated for an International Documentary Award.
