As the Founder, President, and CEO of WeLife Foundation, Shavonne Strachan has experience in strategy, finance, fundraising, program development for nonprofit organizations, and event planning for inner-city children. During the fellowship, Shavonne aims to build branding and marketing techniques, to learn how to structure the foundation’s fundraising efforts to be sustainable and to gain the tools for WeLife to be a nonprofit that will be recognized both locally and internationally. Upon returning to the Bahamas, Shavonne plans to establish a board and work with local businesses to implement long-term solutions for inner-city children to experience happiness and acquire a quality education and other tools needed to succeed in life. One of her long-term goals is to adopt an inner-city community and become the bridge that creates access to good food, education, and personal development opportunities.
