As a Senior Associate for Development Gateway (DG), Wekem Raymond Avatim coordinates DG's Visualizing Insights on Fertilizer for African Agriculture project in Ghana. While in the U.S., Avatim worked with ECO City Farms in Riverdale, Maryland, where he engaged with community leaders on issues of sustainable agriculture, community health, and social justice and worked with the farm managers to produce sustainably grown food. Since his return to Ghana, Avatim has focused his efforts on promoting sustainable agriculture practices including climate SMART agriculture, livelihood diversification, and the promotion of nutrition sensitive agricultural practices in rural communities in northern Ghana.
