Nadine Rugira Umuhire has six years of experience in the non-profit sector. As the Gender Equity Coordinator at Bright Future Cornerstone, Umuhire strengthens the capacity of staff to conduct gender analyses and integrate gender needs in planning, implementation, and lessons learned to ensure that men and women benefit equally from project interventions. While in the U.S., Umuhire worked at the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center in San Francisco, where she focused on gender equality and equity programs, as well as promoting these programs with local partners, including government partners. Having completed the Community Solutions Program, Umuhire is working to provide relevant skills and financial services to youth, especially women, to accelerate their participation in the local economy through increased employment and business ownership.
