Daniel Mazinga
As the founder and Coordinator of Community Consortium Uganda, a grassroots community based initiative committed to fighting poverty and restoring hope to the poor and marginalized through health, economic, and educational opportunities, Daniel Mazinga focuses on both formal and informal education as a lifeline to disadvantaged children and youth, especially those infected affected by HIV/AIDS in impoverished Ugandan communities. While at African Community Education in Worcester, Massachusetts, Mazinga’s work concentrated on diversity and engaging in research-informed practices and practice-informed community development research by employing evidence-based interventions. Now returned from the Community Solutions Program Fellowship, he is working on identifying the existing and future economic, social and health challenges of youth in impoverished settings of Uganda through the creation of after-school programs that will keep young people off the streets and engaged in activities that positively contribute to building their lives.
