As a Policy and Legal Officer for the Wildlife Conservation Society - Vietnam Program, Hien Thi Luong has experience researching and reviewing legal documents and building legislation and guidelines for judicial officers. For her follow-on project in Vietnam, Hien plans to develop a strategic plan to advocate banning wildlife consumption to reduce the risks of zoonotic diseases and organize a capacity-building workshop for prosecutors dealing with wildlife crimes.

Hien will be placed at the Animal Welfare Institute in Washington, DC to help develop a training curriculum on wildlife crimes, learn about multidisciplinary approaches to tackling wildlife trafficking, and conduct legal research regarding wildlife protection.
