Bridgette Kennedy
Bridgette Kennedy is a senior program officer leading MEND Sri Lanka’s media literacy program “Learn to Discern” which enables people of all ages to develop healthy habits for engaging with information, online and offline.
In her role she provides technical input into program design, curriculum development, training, multi stakeholder engagement, and overall program management.
Prior to joining IREX, Bridgette worked at the United Nations, supporting peacebuilding initiatives led by youth across all provinces in Sri Lanka. Bridgette has also worked at a grassroots level community-based organization leading several projects on livelihood support, women’s empowerment and environment conservation, supporting vulnerable communities in areas affected by the armed conflict.
Bridgette is fluent in English and Sinhala. She holds a masters in human rights and democratization from the University of Colombo and a bachelors degree in social sciences from the Open University of Sri Lanka.
