Rebecca Birkholz
Rebecca is a program officer working primarily in the Community and Governance Practice at IREX where she manages the day-to-day operations for the Navigator portfolio focused on safe migration in Nepal and elsewhere in Southeast Asia. Rebecca also supports the Capacity Strengthening and Performance Improvement Initiative in the Center for Applied Learning Initiatives, developing a toolkit for IREX’s Global Programs staff to enable more holistic capacity strengthening for IREX’s local partners.
Prior to joining IREX in 2018, Rebecca interned at the Project for Middle East Democracy a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to examining how genuine democracies can develop in the Middle East and North Africa and how the United States can best support that process.
Rebecca completed her MA in Middle East Studies at George Washington University’s Elliot School of International Affairs and holds a BA in International Affairs and Political Science with minors in Religious Studies and Arabic from the University of Florida.
