Ruth Sleshi is a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) program officer for the Community Engagement Exchange (CEE) and Community Solutions Program (CSP) programs in the Leadership Practice.

In this role, Ruth oversees all aspects of performance monitoring and evaluation efforts, including tool design, data collection and analysis, and leading learning activities for the CEE and CSP teams. She has expertise in quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and reporting, knowledge management, data visualization, producing learnings, gender, and working with civil society organizations in a cross-cultural setting.

Prior to joining IREX, Ruth worked for CARE Ethiopia as the gender and MEL consultant responsible for monitoring and reporting on several USAID, DFID and GIZ funded projects and ensuring gender integration across projects. Outside of her programmatic responsibilities, Ruth actively participated in several working groups passionate about promoting women and girls economic and social empowerment.

Ruth holds an MA in international development from Elliott School of International Affairs, Washington D.C. and a BA in international affairs and African studies from Ohio State University. She has a passion for travel and languages and is fluent in Amharic, advanced in Spanish and Tigrigna, and intermediate in French.
