Roberto Malta is a program coordinator for the Communities and Governance practice at IREX, supporting programs that aim to strengthen civil society.  Among them is Ambulantes that provides information to internal agricultural migrants in Mexico. In this role, Roberto provides program administrative and logistical support, conducts monitoring and evaluation, and coordinates with external program partners.

Roberto began working with IREX in 2022, then with the programs in the Student Leadership portfolio of the Leadership Practice- the Thomas Jefferson Scholarship Program and the Global UGRAD-Pakistan. In the addition to the general tasks listed above, he managed a caseload of Tunisian exchange students and guided them successfully through the program.

Before joining IREX, Roberto interned at Rise to Peace, an NGO focusing on promoting a people-centered approach to countering violent extremism, specifically on their Latin America division. He earned his BA in Global Affairs from George Mason University and his MA in International Affairs from the  Elliott School of George Washington University.
