Tony Green
Tony is the deputy project director for the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Program.
In his role, Tony provides administrative and strategic oversight in the implementation of the YLAI program. He oversees curriculum development, MEL, alumni engagement, and communications strategy.
Tony has 14 years of experience managing professional exchange programs, including exchange programs for the US Library of Congress’ Open World Leadership Center and USAID’s Community Connections. Prior to joining IREX, he managed the Department of State’s Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Professional Exchange program.
Tony also has experience managing USAID projects in Afghanistan and Tanzania; helping create well-run and financially sustainable municipalities in Afghanistan, and support business growth and investment in Tanzania. His professional experience also includes serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Republic of Georgia as a community economic development volunteer.
Tony has a master’s degree in public policy from George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government.
