Elizabeth (Liz) Hague
Liz Hague is a leadership development manager for the Leadership Practice. In this role, Liz supports a portfolio of fellowships and leadership development programs in more than 100 countries on all facets of leadership development, as well as manages broader leadership development initiatives within the Leadership Practice.
As leadership development manager, Liz works with program teams to design and implement innovative and participant-centered leadership development curricula and events. She also builds leadership development expertise and capacity within IREX and leads the annual flagship Impact Fellowships Summit (IFS) and Impact Fellowship Community Network, a growing community of organizations and practitioners that implement fellowships and leadership development programs globally.
Liz began her career as an attorney before transitioning to Equal Justice Works, the largest provider of legal fellowships in the U.S., placing early-career public interest lawyers at nonprofits to address pressing social justice issues. While there, she designed and led a pilot initiative focused on fellow learning and networking by surveying fellow needs and crafting responsive programming. Prior to joining IREX, she worked as program director at The Appellate Project, a nonprofit that empowers law students of color through programming, mentorship, and community-building.
Liz graduated summa cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis, served as a Fulbright Scholar in Morocco and received the Critical Language Enhancement Award (Arabic), and holds a law degree from Harvard Law School with pro bono distinction.
