Fabián Antonio Araujo
Fabián Antonio works in the education sector as the Director of Programa Inclusivo Multicultural Originario Kañari (PRIMOK). For the children and youth of the canton and the province, PRIMOK is an educational institution that offers affordable, accessible quality education, giving students the opportunity to experience national and international exchanges that allow them to learn different languages and providing opportunities in Cañar, one of the most popular tourist cities in Ecuador, to promote community tourism in rural communities and offer students exchange and volunteer opportunities abroad. Antonio’s short-term goal is to recruit teachers to volunteer for a minimum of three months and to host international students in the homes of mestizo and indigenous families. Their long-term goal is to promote community tourism to program graduates and offer students the opportunity to participate in exchange programs throughout the US. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Antonio’s top business challenge is Social Impact. More specifically, they want to attract international teachers willing to volunteer for at least three months. During the Fellowship Placement, Antonio hopes to gain exposure for the company and establish connections with educational organizations in the US to promote the exchange program and appeal to teachers.
