Carolina Cardenas
Astrid Carolina works in the food and beverage sector as the Founder and Manager of Mumma. For health-conscious or vegan consumers or those with food allergies and intolerances who wish to consume healthy and safe foods, Mumma is a food manufacturer and distributor that has transformed one of the world's most consumed snacks, ice cream, into a healthy and accessible food option using a recipe comprised of 65 percent natural fruit, almond milk, and yacon (a tuber that helps regulate blood sugar) without compromising on taste or texture. Astrid Carolina aims to optimize operational and sales processes in the short term, enabling more time for innovation, market expansion, and community job creation, and ultimately reach 70 percent of Colombia with the company's products and export its powdered ice cream internationally. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Astrid Carolina’s top business challenge is Finance. More specifically, they wish to achieve profitability to grow and innovate. During the Fellowship Placement, Astrid Carolina hopes to gain knowledge and experience within the organization that will help Mumma improve its operational and sales processes, create more job opportunities (especially for single mothers), and promote fair trade in Colombia.
