Juan Carlos Solis
Juan Carlos works in the food and beverage sector as the Founder of John’s Meats. For middle- and upper-class individuals aged twenty-eight to fifty-five who appreciate convenient, healthy, tasty meat products as well as hotels and restaurants seeking quality meat for their menus, John’s Meats is a smoked meats company that manufactures products with organic ingredients that are free from artificial preservatives and other harmful chemicals. Juan Carlos aims to introduce the company’s products to the retail and hospitality sector in the short term and ultimately build a superior meat processing plant to export its products to different countries. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Juan Carlos' top business challenge is Operations. More specifically, they wish to grow the company’s operations, including making production plans, creating new types of products, working with new suppliers, and buying equipment for the company's new factory. During the Fellowship Placement, Juan Carlos hopes to gain knowledge of business practices and cultural dynamics in the host country by experiencing a different environment and learning about innovative strategies that offer fresh perspectives on scaling a business and navigating the ever-evolving global market.
