Kathia works in the food and beverage sector as the Founder and CEO of Foodco S de RL. For customers aged twenty-five to forty-five who appreciate Honduran cuisine, tourists seeking authentic local flavors, and business clients in need of corporate event catering, Foodco S de RL is an ethnic restaurant that offers more than just a satisfying meal. The restaurant’s comfort food provides a deep connection to Honduran culture, evokes fond memories and nostalgia, and profoundly touches the heart. Kathia’s short-term goal is to improve the menu by redesigning its layout, adjusting prices based on current cost analysis, introducing new dishes, and enhancing recipes to elevate ingredient quality and overall flavor. In the long term, the fellow’s vision is focused on brand positioning and expansion. Kathia aims to establish the restaurant as a recognized ambassador of authentic Honduran cuisine nationwide by opening new locations in touristic areas throughout the country. They plan to expand the restaurant into a franchise network that preserves the essence of Honduran heritage while embracing innovation and culinary excellence. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Kathia’s top business challenge is Operations. The restaurant needs to establish clear guidelines and protocols, streamline processes to reduce waste, maintain quality standards, increase cost efficiency, and improve workflow in all areas. During the Fellowship Placement, Kathia hopes to gain knowledge and skills to enhance their business model, specifically in operations and strategic management. This will enable them to improve their leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, leading to personal and professional growth.
