Escaury works in the youth empowerment sector as the Founder of Afrosura. For people from marginalized communities (aged between twenty-six and thirty-five) with naturally curly or afro hair who want to reconnect with their African roots and embrace their natural hair, Afrosura is a beauty and healthcare company that treats, nurtures, and restores the health of natural hair while educating and empowering its clients and fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment. Escaury’s short-term goal is to digitize the company’s business structure. Their long-term goal is to register the company as a nonprofit foundation and franchise. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Escaury’s top business challenge is Talent. More specifically, they would like to develop their business skills. During the Fellowship Placement, Escaury hopes to gain knowledge to help them create a solid business structure, attract a skilled workforce, develop a good communication strategy, and achieve digitization for the company.
