Gerardo works in the energy and environment sector as the CEO of ReciclApp. For housing complexes, schools, and businesses that generate large volumes of waste and want to impact climate change and resource extraction positively, ReciclApp is a circular economy waste management company that provides recycling services. Gerardo's short-term goal is to provide recycling services to most of the building complexes in the city. Their long-term goal is to provide circular waste management for governments and corporations by providing recycling and upcycling services. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Gerardo's top business challenge is Finance. More specifically, they want to secure funding to scale the company's operations by buying more vehicles to collect recyclables. During the Fellowship Placement, Gerardo hopes to gain exposure to US businesses to assess the need and available funding for the company's services in the US context.
