Afua Sarpong
Afua Sarpong is a program associate for the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders. She supports the program’s Public Management track.
Prior to joining IREX, she worked in the training department at Quadel Consulting and Training, LLC, a leading national expert in HUD-assisted multifamily, public housing, housing choice voucher, and low-income housing tax credit programs.
Since 2016, Afua has supported the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) and Future Leaders Exchange Program (FLEX) at American Councils for International Education as a temporary screening panelist. As a screening panelist, she reads applications from high school students that want to learn a new language and culture while participating in an exchange program.
Afua holds a Master of Arts in International Education from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Government with a minor in African studies from The College of William and Mary.
