Agnes Taile is the director of www.leseptentrion.net, a French‐language news site focusing on northern Cameroon that she started after leaving her country in 2009. She sees the site as a way to continuing her fight against corruption, poverty and for human rights while living in the United States. Agnes was recognized in 2009 by the International Women’s Media Foundation for her courage as a journalist. In 2006, she was the subject of a vicious attack and abduction while she was reporting for Sweet FM on corruption and social issues. Following that, her show was canceled. She continued reporting, joining Canal 2 until 2009.
