Aisha Thompson Banton
As a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Advisor, Aisha Thompson Banton promotes learning and improvement by providing technical analysis that not only strengthens internal and external MEL capabilities but also aids in the assessment of program impact across all IREX practices.
Aisha has been managing and conducting evidence-based policy, program and performance evaluations, research studies and impact assessments for the past 10 years. She is highly proficient at working within systems as well as thinking outside of them. Through her work, she is dedicated to elevating the human component of data and works to promote the voices of underrepresented populations who are often excluded. Currently, she is responsible for supporting the MEL capacities of a portfolio of programs across all practices including the Ford Global Fellowship as well as the Veteran’s Reintegration Program in Ukraine. Additionally, she supports training exercises for IREX staff on the development of performance indicators, and aids in the design of theories of change and impact pathways.
Prior to joining IREX, Aisha conducted various evaluations and research projects focusing on a variety of community development programs such as health, housing, and education as well as initiatives aimed at increasing diversity in legal education as well as the profession.
Aisha has a master’s degree from Howard University and is currently in the process of completing her PhD in Economics focusing on the areas of international development and urban economics.
