Amalia De La Cruz Solís
As the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Associate of World Food Program, Amalia De La Cruz Solis leads the analysis of food security from a perspective of physical and economic access to food, as well as its nutritional use and carries out the monitoring and evaluation of the nutrition component of a government program to identify the impact that nutritious foods have on the beneficiaries. While in the U.S., De La Cruz Solis worked with United Way Worldwide in Alexandria, Virginia, where she supported the Public Policy Agenda by creating a map of emerging issues from local United Ways and researching data for racial disparities, helped organize and engage United Ways in #VoteTogether, an initiative to increase voter participation and supported recruitment and outreach of United Ways as partners for National Voter Registration Day. Since her return to Dominican Republic, De La Cruz Solis has focused her efforts on designing, coordinating, and implementing an evaluation of the nutrition component of a government program and design, coordinating, and implementing a national survey on food security in the context of COVID-19.
